ya they look good this year I don't see why he wouldn't want to re sign

Playoff Trade
Nucks aren't giving up Luke Schenn for Holl. They could probably get a 3rd rounder maybe 2nd at best for Luke Schenn, so leafs will have to add a good piece there.

Tank 4 Bedard only to lose the lottery
that package for Petterson is rock bottom. Lafs 1st OA value is being diminished day by day, id say he has a mid/late first round pick value at this moment. Petey has elite value, on the level of guys like Tkachuk, Marner, Robertson. A return from the rangers would look like Laf, Schneider, 1st round pick, Chytil, something ridiculous like that.

looks good. If they keep the core forwards they can stay competitive for a while. If they get past the first round this year and Matthews is re signed I think Dubas might stay around a lot longer.

id probably take most on the scratch list over Miller at centre. He is more of a winger and isnt good at centre

Canucks full rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles5513</b></div><div>Translation: “Nobody wants your bad contracts.”
Doesn’t make sense for anyone to take on the Miller deal without receiving a significant asset in return. Probably would need to take back a bad contract in that scenario too.</div></div>
He would be hard to move but he isn't even close to the level of negative value. He is still a good asset at 8 mill. I could see him moved to a contending team but its just that most teams are capped to the max right now. We would have to take back a decent sized contract in a hockey trade but there is no way you'd have to give up a pick or prospect to move him, if anything you would get a pick/prospect in return for Miller. He also has a full NMC for the first years of his new contract, that's why it will be near impossible to move him after this year.

JT Miller to NYR ship has sailed unfortunately. May have been something there last year but not anymore. Miller is going to be very hard to move.

im not sure if any of you noticed but Horvat is also in the deal... Hischier is an amazing 1C/2C but Horvat is also an extremely good and useful 2C, although 5 years older. Hughes is undoubtedly a top pairing top power play defenseman. NJ can easily re sign Horvat, and obviously keep Severson with Marino gone. Their d core would be Hughes-Hamilton, Siegenthaler-Severson, Luke Hughes-Nemec, the nastiest defence in the league. I think in terms of value this trade is decently fair. Obviously with their current winning situation this deal wouldn't happen but u cant deny having all three hughes brother on one team would be a spectacle to watch. Imagine watching the power play with Quinn, Luke and Jack

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OkMan</b></div><div>I don't think NYI spends much time saying no on that deal. Raty is someone I highly doubt that they'd move</div></div>
I actually think this deal is pretty clearly lopsided in NYs favour. Yes Miller has an 8x8 deal, but he would bring a lot of offence and grit to a team that should be in win now mode. I think this trade benefits both sides because for the 4-5 years that the Miller deal actually is worth the value, VAN is probably just gonna waste it by missing the playoffs and being mediocre. NYI has the potential to cash out with this trade by making the playoffs multiple years in a row. I think Raty is good but lets be honest he is nothing incredible with 0.5 ppg in the AHL, definitely a piece that could be moved. This trade is a risk for VAN but we need prospects and cap space.

Hindsight 2020 - What couldve been
everything looks good except the Eichel and Chychrun trades. Both trades were not even reported or even speculated. What is more realistic is us trading Miller for the supposed rangers offer of Chytil, Lundqvist and 1st, which allows us to give Horvat the 8 yr deal. There was also a reported ask from the pens for Rathbone and a 2nd for Marino which would be an upgrade on D.

such a good team. Id probably remove Pavelski, Tuch and Terry, and replace them with Kane, Gaudreau, JT Miller/Keller/Debrincat. Rather see the best players rather than trying to get chemistry from NHL teammates.

Rebuild
You undervalued Schenn, but you also overvalued Myers, Kuzmenko, OEL, Miller, and Horvat. Im torn between trying to decide which is more unrealistic, but I think it might actually be the Miller trade. A bottom feeder team with promising prospects and decently bright future trades a 5th overall centre, probably a top 10 2024 pick, and a 2nd for an aging winger on an 8 year deal, completely shattering any hopes of them being good in the future.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Knuckl3s</b></div><div>No, not optimistic at all. If the Canucks are dealing Boeser and taking a comparable amount of salary in return, WITH term on it, then a 1st as compensation is the minimum ask</div></div>
100%. Probably even more than a 1st if were taking Bailey in return. Taking Bailey back essentially means that not only do we lose Brock, but we also say goodbye to any chance of a Horvat extension because it won't clear any cap for us. So basically, we are giving up Brock and Horvat for Bailey a 2nd and a 3rd.

Nucks aren't trading Bo for scraps. If u want Boeser or Garland then scraps would be fine, but there are likely packages with higher quality pieces for Bo, a high level prospect and a 1st rounder at the very least.

even 2nd pair defenders, there really isnt much available around the league that would be helpful to our team. and if we trade horvat to a contender, the chances of us returning any NHL level defenders at all is pretty much zero. if we want to get some defence via a horvat trade, best bet would be in the form of prospects/picks but we won't get a young NHL caliber 2nd pair defender in return most likely.

And if the Blues can't afford either O'Reilly or Tarasenko. Then there's no way they can afford Horvat whom is going to cost far more than either of those two.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Knuckl3s</b></div><div>Doesn't mean that's a bad package. If anything, it might not be enough to outbid what other team's offer VAN for Bo</div></div>
there truly is almost no options in acquiring the top pairing RHD that we need unless we consider trading Horvat to the kings. the blues have most of their team locked up long term and they can pay 9 mill to horvat. They have no significant RFA signings coming up either. Acquiring and signing horvat would be a decent move to compete for the next 3-4 years for the blues.

what is going on
feel like their situation is pretty similar to the canucks except they went through an actual rebuild and have younger players. Have good offensive LHD, forward group that looks really good on paper, absolutely terrible RHD though. NJ was basically in the same situation last year but all they did was add Marino, a solid RHD, and now they are one of the best even without Palat. Although Calgary has probably the best defence in the league and they aren't great. Also the sens lost Norris which is a big hit, I wouldn't expect them to perform amazingly without him, he was expected to be a 30-40 goal scorer this year.
