Description
Let's face it, the Leafs need to do everything they can to try to win in next two years. There is no guarantee that Matthews is even here beyond that. If they fail the next two years, why would he want to stay? And if Matthews leaves you are probably entering a rebuild again. So you move basically all your picks for next two years and prospects as needed. Your 1st round picks and Matthew Knies won't mean much if Matthews leaves because hes sick of losing. Do evreything in your power to win in next two years.

You fool! You talk about the uncertainty of keeping Matthews around, and then bring in the only player to willingly sign a 5 year deal with his hometown team? Lawson Crouse will be a sleeper agent, telling Auston about how great that college arena feel is, how good Karel Vejmelka is despite having an ECHL blue line in front of him, and how getting that one shining star will be what the Coyotes would need to really take over the Western Conference. It's a trap!!

I admittedly expected more than we got for Namestnikov but, I do believe Sundqvist is a much better player and plays a much heavier game as well.

He will either not be traded at all or we’ll get at least a 2nd rounder for him. I have zero doubt about that. Same goes for Jake Walman.

Turns out that Nick Leddy trade worked out pretty well for Mr. Yzerman.
