On what planet is Fowler worth a potential top 10 pick? Not happening Detroit has zero need in Fowler and definitely not giving up a 1st for him.

And all Canadian teams are on Shattenkirks no trade list. Shattenkirk isn't waiving for Montreal.

I mean, you didn't completely botch every trade, the one to NJ at least has some semblance of sense. I don't think the LA trade is big enough to ruffle any feathers on either team, so it could be possible. The Puljujarvi one is light on the pick but is conceivable.

The rest though, those are ugly for the other teams. Minnesota had so many defensemen this season they gave us Kulikov for free (which I appreciate, frankly he has been fine). Edmonton has plenty of forward depth, they've no need for Henrique's services, nor do we with Barrie and Janmark. Shattenkirk will only waive for Toronto of all the Canadian teams. Fowler probably has Detroit as one of the 4 teams he could be traded to, but I think Detroit would rather see if Vrana can figure himself out than spend a 1st to dump him on us and get Fowler in the process, also, if they dump him here, the likelihood is that he is not playing 1st line.

U go too far with your little rants. Every single team in the NHL could use a player like Fowler and we’ve been playing musical chairs at RHD on the 3rd pair for the past 2 years. So, to say we have zero need is a bit of a stretch.

With that being said, this trade does not make sense for the redwings based on what we’re being asked to give up.

Fowler is a very good player, but the Wings are more than one left shot defender away from being competitive. We really need that top 10 pick and whatever we can get for Vrana after a refurbish. I don't think we're in the market for any top talent aged 30+ unless it's off FA.
