You're gonna have to PAY a team a 3rd to move that Pulju contract. He has little to no value at this point.

I highly doubt Detroit seriously entertains trade offers for Perron. There’s a certain respect factor with Perron and Yzerman, I get the impression he would not be moved unless he explicitly asks for it.

You are correct, highly unlikely.

There is the history with Perron and the Oilers (only RNH and Draisaitl, before Drai became an NHL beast) and of course Holland & Yzerman. Never say never.

This player still has value, just not 1st or 2nd round value.

If you think a 24 year old 6’4” defensively responsible 4th overall pick who can skate is not worth a 5th rounder and a 4th rounder, that is your own myth to believe.

Defensively responsible... be for real right now.
The 3m player with 10 points on the year who's MORE confident when hes not playing with Mcdavid or Drai.

That's not a myth, he's been on the block for ages. Nobody is biting unless you're paying to move that god awful contract.

Detroit passes, Foegele is a cap dump and Yamamoto is too small. Plus picks that are 2 and 3 years away respectively isn't enough for us to move Perron plus retain 50% on him.

...not to mention that we don't have open roster spots to do the trade and would have to waive one of them.

This is the problem "4th overall pick" If you are assigning value becuase he once was picked 4th over all 5-6 yrs ago that is value only for the Oilers and not anyone else. A pick is valuable as a pick until its made then its a real player who can succeed or fail. JP has failed. If you cant score with the 2 best players in the world you probably are not going to flourish somewhere else.

Not interested in paying for Puljujarvi. He's fine as a throw-in for something else but not as a direct target.

So true, it is so easy to rack up the points with Draisaitl and McDavid.

There is no way that the Finnish GM of CBJ would take that kind of massive risk during a lost season to experiment with reuniting Puljujarvi and Laine. It would be sheer lunacy to throw a away a valuable 5th rounder AND a 4th round pick in case these guys someday make it to the NHL or to use in a trade for a valuable vet 4th liner.

Besides, Puljujarvi, who has never shown any talent on NHL ice, ever (except sometimes last year, but that was last year, so it doesn’t matter) is worse than most players in Columbus, including all the AHL call-ups.

Besides, a change of scenery for underperforming former first round picks never works out, so why should I even be wasting my time replying to people who think like you?
