Explain how it makes sense for the Avs to give up a 1st in a deep draft for a 29 year old with 90 points in 239 games and a recent 1st round pick plus another pick for a 28 year old with only one year left on his deal. How does this benefit the Avs more than not doing the deals?

barabanov is seriously underrated, defensively too. on pace for 50+ points on a team that struggles to score goals. Avs shouldn't do these trades but Barbs is far from marginal.

Agreed. Barabanov's ask should be a first and a B level prospect or a second. Especially with retention. They get a 60 pt winger with another year at 1.25 cap hit and all SJ gets is a 3rd and prospect with middle six potential? This is a joke of an offer by someone who has no idea who Barabanov is
