The draft picks are too far away, and Foote is starting to look like a bust due to his poor skating. Kuzmenko has played great with Petey, we should do everything we can to resign him.

The first being further in the future is totally fine. Bolts will probably be worse in a couple yrs. We aren't going to be competing for a long time especially if we are willing to pass up this type of homerun future value deal. Kuzmenko can't help us rebuild our defense...unless we trade him. I understand your urge to keep him as he's done well with Petey but he is so easily replaceable. Draft picks are not easy to get. And Cal Foote is just a throw in as far as I'm concerned in this. Though I'd be very happy to take a flyer on him.

The player selected with that 1st likely won't play until at least the 26-27 season. I would think if Kuzmenko were traded that we could get a 1st in this year's draft. I still think we should keep him.

That's correct draft picks were changed... I'd say there's really nothing wrong with Foote's skating he's just lost some confidence on Tampa and has been pigeonholed. As for the return I'd want Gage Goncalves & Simon Ryfors instead of Barre-Boulet, as he'd be like having 2 Dries as perennial players.
