I cant see SJS retaining 50% for 5 years on Karlsson and Ottawa can't afford it nor would they want to long term

$4M Ryan Johansen for the next 3 years would probably cost more than just a late 1st.

I would do this.

Sharks go bankrupt. They are paying around 15 mil every year for the next 3 years between buyouts and retention. This team is paying $67,560,003 million dollars total over the next 5 years for players that either arent on the team, or are playing against them.

Paying 4 mil for coture is better than 8 mil ya goof

Way too much for Meier, especially so if there isn't an extension included.

Not enough going to SJ to be worth that much retention on EK65 and don't think OTT would want to pay more than that. Also EK probably doesn't want to go back to OTT.
