Description
Muzzin remains on LTIR

Robertson for Jeannot. Jeannot is certainly having an off year. Perhaps a change of scenery will help. He is still a RFA as well. Robertson needs out of Toronto. Between media and injuries he is not going to amount to the expectations. He is still young and I feel would do well in a less media centric environment. Hopefully I get input from non leaf fans here about who needs to add in the trade.
Horvat - not necessarily what Toronto needs, but wow does he provide great injury insurance for either Tavares or Matthews. He is an Ontario boy and purely a rental. Personally I pull the trigger, but again the leaf fan vultures will have their opinions.

I don't see the need for Jeanot. This isn't a down year for him, this is who he is. He had a crazy lucky year where he scored at a ridiculous shooting percentage he'll never again match. Also why is Kampf not the centre of the 4th line?

I’d rather see Jeannot play under a competent coaching staff that knows how use him before the Preds look at trading him. So, if I’m the Preds I’d decline

I guess that 1/3 of a season determines who a guy is. Totally makes sense especially when it contradicts the 1st 100 games of the guy’s career

He wasn't much of a scorer in Junior until his overage year and then hasn't been much of a scorer in the AHL. 1 okay stretch where he shot at 20% isn't at all sustainable. He's not who you think he is. He's a bottom 6 grinder who got lucky for a while.

I’d argue that his shooting percentage from last year was unsustainable, but I also think that his shooting percentage this year is unsustainable for the opposite reason. I want to say that he’s hit 5 posts in the last 4 games and keeps on getting robbed by goalies. It’s only a matter of time before those chances start going in and he starts scoring again. He’s just been unlucky this year and I don’t think that reflects that chances he’s created.

Yeah his current pace of 6.38% shooting percentage seems much more sustainable

Jeannot is a buyer beware guy imo, I wouldn’t move a prospect for him as mentioned above he had a massive season last year and don’t know that it is replicable.

I’ll take the size and hockey sense of Jeannot who is playing 15 mins a night over Robertson.

your takes are HORRENDOUS. Jeannot can easily be a 20+ goal scoring power forward under the right coach.

The last refuse of the desperate - blame the coach 😂. Unless I am mistaken - Hynes has been coaching for Jeannot’s entire career with the Preds? So when he scored 24 in 81 (shoot 19.4%) last year but has scored 3 in 32 this year (shoot 6.4%) - was it because of the coach last year but it’s his fault this year 🧐?

I certainly understand the trades proposed. Plus the explanation given by Mr Dinkiee is sound.
IMO the Canucks will get more for Horvat from a team that needs a centre.....not saying the Leafs should be acquiring him at this point.
Good post sir.

Blaming the coach for the performance of a professional athlete is pretty lame.

It’s like leaf fans are purposely trying to look stupid for some reason.

So were going to act like Caufield wasnt having one of the worst seasons under Ducharme before St. Louis came in and played to his strengths (now on pace to score 30+ goals).

Hynes was a result of a lot of players in our forward group producing well last season, but has since then lost the room. And as a result, mix/matches the lines every other night to spark chemistry. It happens, coaches lose their voices and teams need new leadership. He’s been the coach since 2020.

Its the same reason 90% of preds fans on here will tell you he needs to he fired, same with poile. I’ve already told you, if leaf fans paid attention to other teams besides meat riding matthews, you’d be less ignorant.

You are a piece of work. You spout ridiculous opinions like they’re facts. Get a grip bud - you’re entitled to your opinion but don’t mistake your opinion for fact.
Professional hockey players (like all athletes) are responsible for their own performance ; coaches can have an impact but it’s limited - blaming the coach is weak and an easy excuse but in this case it was the SAME coach tears of joy . So he was a great coach last year when Jeannot shot 20% but terrible this year when the same player is shooting 6% tears of joy

I quite literally just explain to you, as a preds fan (who watches the games every night) the reason for his terrible production.

Athletes (in this case, NHL players) are responsible for their own production, but still very obviously work differently under different coaching styles. Hynes shifted his coaching style as a result of getting absolutely piped by Colorado in the playoffs, and now, players are suffering in production for it.

Duchene, scored 40 last season, wont even go near that in this pace.
Forsberg, same scenario.
Josi, say goodbye to that 90pt season.

Want me to go on? This isn’t a Jeannot thing, it’s a coaching thing. I am genuinely trying to pick your brain here, but I think you just might be a lost cause. Please, man, for the sake of your own ignorance, change the channel and watch some other teams play.

You know what’s funny, I said that multiple in my last few messages. Even if he shot at like 12% he’d Ben producing at a middle six rate. He can be a 15-25 goal guy with a nice shot.
