Tarasenko isn’t even guaranteed to get 70 points this season. Meier is a good pickup, they don’t a 32 year Tarasenko on a contract that immediately becomes untraceable the second it’s signed.

They’re both good players but with cap only going up by $1M next year (which is a joke btw 😕), this year’s problem persists one more year:

Lots of teams will have deadline cap space, and there r teams that r out of contention who may move assets to shore up their roster for the next year. Are Pageau and Beau the guys getting moved to a rebuilding team? No. But maybe you can make a three way deal.
