Hard pass on Compher, Reimer and especially that piece of **** Gudas.

Compher is questionable. Gudas plays a tough physical game. That dcore would be a pain in the ass. Reimer is a 1yr deal. Overpay him as a backup while cossa keeps developing. Reimer has actually been very good this year.

That is still not a Stanley Cup winning roster, which is exactly why Detroit is in no position to be making significant trades right now. Stay the course - drafting, developing and targeted FA signings, where they make sense.

Gudas is a personal choice. I think he's a complete scumbag and I don't want him in a Wings jersey.

Gudas would been a big upgrade on the 3rd pair over Lindtröm. Good shutdown partner to play with Edvinsson/Johansson/Mcisaak.

Trades aside, just looking at this team and it's barely a playoff team. Hughes has elite talent but he isn't an elite defender by any means. I think his defensive play has taken steps forward but I don't think him being paired with a young defender is a good choice. This team still lacks centre depth as I don't think Copp is a 2C. He would be better as third line centre or winger. Still alot of weaknesses on the team.

I don't love the ufas but I don't mind the trades at all. Yes to Hughes, we know what Zadina has done so I'm ok trying to untap Poolparty I just don't think we have room to even try. Compher is a perfect 3rd line right handed center we dearly miss.

Throw in Kasper and a 2nd in the Hughes deal Canucks probably accept

JP held out like Drouin did in TB and I highly doubt Yzerman wants to go down that road again. On top of that he is too much like Mantha, talented but is an enigma becuase of his play and desire. Yzerman has shown to acquire players who play a solid 200 foot game do not take shifts off. Zadina is not having the career that Wings fan's envisioned but he at least he tries. Rasmussen is an example of what Yzerman likes, hard working and plays the whole ice.

Yup. Try Edvinsson, Hronek and two first round picks, and then you're at least in the conversation.
