Sabres pass but I also don't know why Toronto would do that unless Murray is hurt again

It's mostly to ensure our third string goalie has playoff experience, anything can happen with injuries at anytime. I figure the Sabres lose nothing over this trade (it is a last hour trade, and obviously only if the Sabres slip out of reach)

So the Leafs don't get to carry an extra forwards . Trading two forwards and one Dman for one forward and one Dman, doesn't make the Leafs that much better the year. Too many could futures given up for marginal better play this year ..

Chiarot package was a pretty good overpayment for a player that didnt tip the scales. ROR kinda in the same boat now

If Anderson says he wanted to go to a contender to finish out his last year I think the Sabres would do this.

-Garbage offer for ROR. The 3rd covers retention, Kerfoot is only there for cap purposes and isn't something St. Louis is going to see as positive value, meaning you're offering a single 1st round pick for a guy that's been a top-5 Selke finisher 4 years in a row, and has a Conn Smythe trophy in his living room. This deal gets easily beaten.

-This deal is an overpay for Toronto, IMO. Engvall is similar to Kerfoot in being minimal value to a seller, but Hirvonen/Niemela/1st/3rd feels like a ton for Chychrun, and moving one of your most steady defenders in Holl seems like you're giving a ton of assets up for a mild upgrade.

-I get your reasoning, but I can't imagine Anderson wanting to move at this stage in his career. Kallgren has been fine as a 3rd goalie this year - he does just enough to keep you in the game and hopefully win. I don't think it makes a ton of sense to trade him, feels like a lateral move at best and you're giving up a lottery ticket in SDA to do that. Pass for the Leafs.

Maybe the Sabres will be buyers at the TDL, they are only 5 pts out of the playoffs now and are the highest scoring team in the NHL.
Who knows what the next 4 months will bring.
But if they are out of the playoffs, and Anderson or Okposo want to go to a playoff team, Karmanos would find a suiter.
BTW, that would be a great offer for Anderson.
