Marcus Foligno has cracked 40 points once in his career (last season) and the 10 seasons prior to that has never surpassed 25 points and you think hes worth a first? Even a late round first? He brings leadership and physicality but this team has a ton of leadership already so do you think his physical play is worth a 1st?

I think Marcus Foligno would be a great addition to this team but would slot him on the 4th line. I am not sure Minnesota moves him unless they are out of of playoff picture because of the leadership he provides for the team. Its more likely they move him in the offseason when they have to clear space to re-sign Boldy and a bunch of their RFAs.

Foligno is still on a good point pace this season, but a first round pick does seem like a lot to give up for him. I would try a different package or try to get later picks back if we are sending a first to Minny.

No I think it’s realistic, Minnesota isn’t likely to trade him this is probably fair value if they were to trade him

They most likely wouldn’t move him unless it was something like this

I think it takes a first to get him, he's valuable to this organization during they're rebuild or whatever for keeping the train on the tracks. Hagel got two first's last year... right?

Not even then. Zboril does absolutely zipall for us.

He's not a need and most certainly isn't something we want.

We added Reaves a couple weeks back because we already lacked physicality. We're not going to give it up now. And it most certainly wouldn't be Foligno either, if we did.

A late 1st and a 7th defenseman we don't need doesn't come close to getting it done.

What we need is a top six forward. Either a capable top-six scoring center or winger. To pair with Boldy or Kaprizov.

I think he’s worth a first, but the hagel situation was way different he had 3 years at 1.5 and still rfa and essentially the perfect player for Tampa who was against the cap so they thought it was worth it.

It's not just that he's another leadership guy. It's that he's more than just that. He's a heart and soul type of guy.

And he’s the beating heart and soul of the Wild as it is.

To use an analogy. If Kaprizov is the teams engine, then Foligno is the drivetrain/transmission on our current roster. He's irreplaceable.

It'd cost a massive overpay for us to even remotely consider moving him.

If the bruins identify this player as what they need, much like tampa did with goodrow…sure. Give up a first round pick. Otherwise, why would minnesota even think about it?

My bigger issue is, I don’t know how you take Trent Frederic off that third line the way he’s playing right now.

He paced out for 47 and 55 points and finished 9th and 11th in Selke voting the previous 2 seasons respectively. From 2020-21 to now, he has scored 76 points in 133GP, that's a 47 point pace over 82 games.

If Blake Coleman and Nick Foligno both cost a 1st+ at the deadline, you can bet your hat that Marcus Foligno would as well

BOS should target Jeannot first, if NSH doesn't want to move him for a 1st +, then Foligno is certainly a good second option. Also should keep Reilly for the playoff run, he's BOS 7th dman and will have better trade value in the summer. No point clearing out 1.875 mil if you're not using 1 mil of it and just making room to call up McLaughlin so he can sit in the pressbox.
