You have to give to get. It's not the best deal I'll admit but they are getting a hometown elite defenseman in Hanifin, Crouse who has tons of skill (great contract) and size to play Bruins kind of game, 2 great prospects and also a 2nd round pick. They give CGY 1 hit or miss roster player (Debrusk), a great prospect (Lysell) and some draft picks

the two prospects the flames are giving up are not good, debrusk is not a hit or miss "roster" player, he's having the best season of his career, and Hanifin is not quite to the elite level. Bruins decline unbelievably quickly

I have so many questions!

-Why is Arizona trading their #1 D, their #1 goalie, and 2 of their 4 best forwards for 4 guys over 30, two AHL depth bodies, and only a single 1st?

-Why is Boston trading you a *much* bigger package for Noah Hanifin, a left-handed D, when they already have Hampus Lindholm, Matt Grzelcyk, Derek Forbort, Jakub Zboril, and Mike Reilly as LHD under contract through next season?

-Why wouldn't Edmonton just offer this package directly to Boston if they liked JDB, instead of going through their most heated rival and potentially paying a higher price because of that?

-Why is Philadelphia trading you a top pair LD for a middle-6 forward and a bottom-6 forward? And why are they adding what's likely a top-5ish pick in this year's draft on top of that??

-Why is Seattle trading back 3 rounds in next year for a trio of random AHL depth guys when they could just sign very similar players off the street and not move back in the draft?

Easy no.

5 LD signed with term including a 1st pair signed long term.

Zero need.

Need all the pieces they are giving up.

Even without logistics…massive overpay.

Hell no on the hanifin package. Crouse deal isn’t terrible, would bring that more skilled physical 3rd line upgrade over Freddy. Crouse is a solid scorer off the rush, he has good speed and having a guy like hall who could make those long stretch passes to him would probably work very well

They don’t have Crouse to trade. Look how he acquired him and try not to piss yourself laughing.

Hahahaha, that is a garbage Flyers trade, why on earth would they not only give up the best player in the deal, but a potential top 5 pick. I don't even think Fletcher himself could make a worse trade, and he's made plenty.
