Tarasenko is a heavier player, and a different look for the playoffs. PLEASE understand I like Nylander but the Leafs have gone into the Spring 5 straight times and lost... they need change, and a heavier look. It also provides flexibility for the roster to be constructed differently if they were to not resign Tarasenko. But They could resign him for 3 years at similar money if they liked what they saw.

Raddysh and Murphy for Lilegren and Kerfoot resigned.... and the 2nd is for Toews... maybe you could argue the leafs have to give up more but... argument could be ade either way... not sure how many teams will be able to add that kind of capspace and CHI will be cycling out contracts I think...

So Toews and Tarasenko BOTH with retention, but zero 1sts leaving...

Kerfoot is literally worth nothing to the blackhawks...same with holl. They can sign the same level of players as UFAs in the summer if needed. Toews(w/ retention) and Murphy cost more then Lili and a 2nd imo.

Leafs shouldn't be trading Nylander for Tarasenko straight up.
Yea Murphy is nice, but geez you're trading two RHD for one....that's bad the Leafs. Holl is minute eater and Liljgren seems to have his spot in the NHL, on a cheaper contract.
