Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Rangers, Pens, and Caps look like they could at risk of missing the playoffs with the emergence of Jersey and Philly as well as the resurgence of the Isles. All 3 fanbases should be concerned.
They have only 5 players that have more than 6 points. (Kakko has 6 and everyone else has even less). Kakko and Laff combined have 11 points which is the same amount as Kreider and Trochek who each have 11 points. Kakko and Laff were expected to take another step forward. Even I thought they would score at least at a 45 point pace. I know they don't get much PP time, but they've spent time playing with the Big 4 forwards. Igor hasn't been as good which has exposed some of their issues.

I think Rangers are fine if they start winning some now, but WSH and PENS should definitely be concerned especially WSH since they have all those injuries, make it important for them to not sink into a hole.

I agree with McRanteskog, that PHI probably falls out, but yeah Metro teams shouldn't be relying on getting in via wild card spot. If Detroit keeps playing strong I would expect both the Eastern wild card spots be claimed by the Atlantic. So Rangers shouldn't be comfy either.

They have the same issues they had last year except Igor isn't stealing games for them anymore. If the coaching staff has no solutions for them from a strategic standpoint besides cracking the whip, shaking the jar, and poopooing their players to the press, I don't expect the results to be different. You can have the best soldiers in the world, but if your mission planning is shallow and not up to par, there is only so much you can do.

How to say, concern yeah but at the same time it is a good year to be bad.
Seems like a team that isn't playing to its strengths, and having still issues scoring 5 on 5.
as for the kids, well yeah... But at the same time it took Kreider and J.T. many years to really breakout.
But they should have at least a 40 - 45 pts season, otherwise it is a huge letdown.

Thats funny because last year they had terrible advanced stats like xgf saying they were scoring way more than expected.
This season the rangers are a top 5 team in xgf, and are just giving up a ton of goals, but also not scoring anywhere near whats expected.
Both Kreider and Laf are in the top 5 of differencial between xgf and actual goals.
Mika and kreider are top 5 in xgf.

The effect is there offensively, just not the outcome.
Defensively Fox-lindgren is actually better this year than last.
Trouba - miller took a step back (prob because trouba is hurt)
Jones-Schneider have good games and bad.
