I’d say switch Cuelamens for Boqvist and Jarmo would consider making the trade, I know he is super high on Cuelamens. I’d also be concerned what the extension would like like, I’m not sure Columbus really has the cap room for him at over 7 mil unless they were able to get out from voracek’s contract.

Very true. Voracek would almost have to be traded. But then comes the question how much does Columbus need to retain or give up assets to even get rid of Voracek

I think the jackets flip Nyquist half retained in a separate deal. Horvat would have to sign for 7 million or less to justify this cost. Don’t really see them giving up this much unless horvat signs a very team friendly deal. Otherwise they will pursue him in FA

If you think we are winning this season you do. If not than we just need to maximize the return. And because the act of trading Horvat would mean we aren't making the playoffs, futures are fine.

Its no rush, but we certainly should be entertaining the idea. Especially if the team doesn't improve in the next 10-15 games. We have about a 6% chance of making the playoffs right now, that could be down to almost nothing in the 15 games. That I think would signal a rebuild of sorts and Horvat would be one of the most likely players to be moved.

If he won't sign for an affordable extension, we have to make a non emotional decision to trade him for assets.

He will sign in Van.He has stated publicly several times that he wants to be a canuck.IMHO.
