I would rather have the 3rd, especially if Hoglander will just end up in the press box when Patches comes back. With Rod’s unwillingness to scratch Martinook and Noesen playing quite well, Hoglander’s options for playing would likely be press box substitute or down in the AHL, which he doesn’t deserve to be in.

He may not deserve to be in the AHL, but neither does Drury. Hoglander is waiver-exempt, which is why I'd actually really like this move. Plus, it allows you to move Stastny down the lineup, and manage that fourth line a little more. When Pacioretty comes back, that's a different problem. Can't fix that until it comes up. But I'd really like this move.

He's been pretty spot-on for the Canes recently. He's not a bad enough source for me to reasonably doubt. Obviously, it hasn't happened, but if he says there were conversations, I'd imagine there were conversations. Doesn't mean anything will happen.

Personally i would rather have Hoglander if its 1v1.

The issue is Boudreau does not seem to like Hoglander and it seems to be affecting his play

I don't see how you can dislike a player, compliment their performance, and then play them on the top line with Elias Pettersson
