Détails additionnels:
Personally I'm not a big believer in Georgiev so it would make sense for the avalanche to trade for a goalie since it's obvious that Sorokin is the number 1 for the Islanders I was wondering if this swap would work, normally I would say this is a bit of an overpayment but Francouz has an extra year on his deal so it would require a slight overpayment. That being said it would work well for Colorado IMO cause they are obviously in their cup window and I'm of the belief that they need a good goalie.

As for the Islanders they get a 1st round pick in a strong draft for their backup goalie who is going to be a Ufa at the end of the season which should help out their prospect pool which imo is below average and could use some more pieces.

Let me know about any changes you would make since I'm curious to hear your guys opinion on a potential framework for a trade.

Isles would say yes, but would probably want a third team to retain that salary if possible.

At the end of the day you can use that pick to make a move at the deadline or dump a bad contract. Both seem necessary in the isles situation.

That's under the assumption that you think Georgiev is capable of being a strong starter tbh IMO I don't see him as that guy this way you can get a proven starter for the playoffs and potentially win back to back cups.

its a bad trade my man, they arent burning a 1st on a back up goalie, they are playing Georgiev who has been good for the avs so far, hes going to be just fine.

Avs won the cup with a sub .900 goalie with a bad eye in the playoffs, you are way way over thinking this

They also lost Kadri and Burakovsky so it's not like they are the exact same team running it back they are slightly different, also a strong starter is never a bad acquisition especially for a team that has cup aspirations IMO cause at worst you just gave yourself one of the better tandems in the league.

I like Georgiev and I see why Avs fans wouldn’t want to do this. Doesn’t mean they won’t have to address the goaltending situation down the road.

Terrible deal for the Avs - I just don't see the upgrade from Francouz to Varlamov as being worth a 1st round pick. You won the Cup last year with Darcy Kuemper - the Avs are a team that can succeed with a lesser goalie.

It’s straight up a bad trade lol.
COL won the cup last year with .900sv% goaltending from Kuemper, Georgiev is just fine.

Even if Georgiev isn’t a contending starter, this doesn’t justify the massive overpay of a trade

He’s not really just a “back up goalie”. He’s the best 1B goalie in the whole league, is a great playoff performer and should 100% be a starter he’s a top 12-14 goalie in the league.

Avs swept the west finals with their back up, let’s put some reflect on francouz name too

They have the same best dcore in the league, it did not get any worse defensively and burakovsky was healthy scratched in the playoffs then hurt

You are acting like he was a vital part of their cup run

Losing kadri hurts but they can get a 2c easily at the tdl

Francouz was just a solid back up behind one of the best playoff teams in the 20th/21st century

Aren’t you proving the point why the avs don’t need varly

Outside of kadri, who they can look at getting a 2c at the deadline, it’s the same team. Same dcore, same elite forechecking wingers are still all there.
Burakovsky was healthy scratched and injured in the playoffs, he wasn't a vital piece of that dominate playoff team, and now they have Rodrigues in the mix, so that roster lose is offset by E-Rod

The only difference in this team is Kadri, and avs have the cap space and the assets at the deadline to get a 2C or another Lehkonen type player.

Goalies are the least of their concerns, they have a solid tandem already

Avs lost their 3rd best forward and a great middle 6 forward they’re going to NEED a starter this year

3rd best forward? Ugh Kadri is great but hes not better than Mack Rants or Landy, and in the playoffs Nichushkin was dominate,

Did you just completely ignore the point of Burakovsky being healthy scratched in the playoffs?

Their D core is better than it was in the West Finals and the Cup Finals, they were missing Girard for their rounds. Dude you arent even trying to comprehend any of the points here, just being a Islanders homer
