It’s very close. Take out Thomson. The Sens announced that they won’t be trading prospects such as JBD, Thomson, Sanderson, Grieg etc.

Unless that 1st round pick is a very high pick doubt ARI does this. Nothing really helps them. Zaitsev is a cap dump, Boucher might be a 4th liner, Thomson seems fine but it will take more than fine to get Chych.

I don't have the mental energy to entertain a Chychrun trade anymore. We've been hearing about it since like June. I'm content to just focus on the guys who are on the team to start the season.

Team looks solid either way. They can make good progress this year for sure. I can see them fighting with Boston and Florida this year in terms of where they finish.

Those are my rankings. I know that seems crazy but I am sticking with it. 3-5 are close though.

Sens really need to capitalize on Boston being banged up for the first few months. My big concern is DJ Smith. Sens have been terrible out of the gate every year, and a lot of the blame lies with him. I'd have him on a short leash.

I'd focus on getting Zub re-signed and see where Ottawa stands with the cap next year.
