Take that out and we go from "borderline overpayment" to "obvious overpayment" on the part of the Jackets. I'm trying, with this one, to find a way to get Arizona the high-end assets they want without screwing over the other side.

Columbus is objectively sending: A 3rd pairing LHD, who would end up being 1st pair in Arizona, a great D prospect, a 1st in a deep draft, that pick likely falling in the 13-16 range imo, and a 2nd in the same draft (pick 45-48). In return they are receiving a young, cost controlled, great value unquestioned top 4 D-man who plays in all situations. That would be a good deal for both sides. The 2nd round pick swap is what is it, but it detracts value from Arizona's return and there would be other teams willing to make that trade without getting a pick back imo. Maybe Arizona sends a 2023 3rd instead?

This might be the dumbest trade. CBJ has so many prospects. Play them. lol. Trading for overvalued D won’t help. I am sure Jakob is a good D. He hasn’t had a difference in 2 locations.
