Breaking down the deal from ANA's side.
There is minimal interest in Drouin. I'd be interested in giving him a look to see if playing in a small market team can get him out of his own head and take some of the pressure off, but that look is probably a one year, 2 mil AAV tops, probably a PTO to be realistic. His current contract and production/health he is a negative asset.
ANA is light on winger prospects and heavy on center prospects, while Stephens seems to be having difficulty cracking an NHL lineup at center, we have several of those in our system already, including some we just picked up like Gawdin.
If Drouin could be the player he was in Tampa, ANA would be interested in him, but that player is years removed from the one we see on the ice presently. If we want to give him a look, we will do it next season when we can pick him up in FA for free.
Some of the older guys on your team get more hate than they deserve, their contracts are decent for their production, but Drouin hasn't earned his deal for the last few seasons.
