This AGM is a response to someone else's Petterson AGM which had Newhook and Girard going the other way which clearly wouldn't get it done. Byram would have to be the player going to Vancouver.

A Byram/Petterson swap would put the Avs ~$3m over the cap so Compher would need to be moved and replaced by a very cheap replacement like Höglander. Vancouver would probably also need to retain a very small amount (eg. 50% of Höglander) to make the cap work for the Avs.

Perhaps Colorado add something to bridge the gap in value between JTC and Höglander (due to age/term) but it probably wouldn't be too much since Vancouver are also getting $3m+ in capspace which they can weaponise. Byram is also younger and still on an ELC which has tremendous value cap-wise compared to EP's $7m+ caphit and less years of team control.

Anyways, not saying this is a perfect trade for either side, just illustrating what a trade for Petterson would look like if it happened.
