They spend a 1st to dump Murray regardless of how good or bad he is next year lol, run with Price + ELC goalie.

Dubas and Shanahan both lose their job this year.

He will not be back, in fact, when he pulls on a Leafs jersey it burns his skin.

Sure, we'll trade you a ppg centreman, retain some money, and add on a first on top of that to take back a goalie who may never play again.

I don't know why the Leafs would ever consider doing this, it makes their team significantly worse.

I'm saying if Price does come back which was his question. That would be 14.9m in goaltending, just to have weak C depth, so they would have to move Murray. I was exaggerated with it being a 1st even if he was good, but this team would be in cap trouble next year. They would probably get off trading Murray for FCs if he's good. They won't keep Murray as the back up though because they would effectively have lost 4.4m a night or 10.5m a night + the 2.5m retained. They wouldn't be able to move Price.

Not saying this is a good offer, or even realistic, but someone will take Price's contract if they're in a pinch. Especially if he'll never play again. See Weber/Dadanov.
