If I was Drury I wouldn't trade Lundkvist, at all, especially for that. I would handle him and his request like EDM handled Puljujärvi.

I don't think Drury is interested in helping the opposition and getting nothing useful back.

I'm no Flames fan, but Coleman has value while Faksa doesn't. A C prospect like Karlstrom isn't sufficient to account for the difference.

Also, Lundkvist for Dellandrea makes more sense for NYR.

Yeah no way Calgary would ever consider that. Coleman is a trooper and very underrated now because of Calgary's overall depth scoring last year

Who knows what's going on in conversation between Nils and the NYR management...but any lack of opportunity for Nils (if that's truly the case) probably has something to do with NYR seeing the lineup as having enough smallish Dmen. So I doubt a 6', 165 lb Dman would be the main piece of the return for Lundqvist. But DAL does have a few young centers...for which a deal involving one of them would make a lot of sense for both teams.

JP doesn't have much competition in Edmonton though, while Nils is stuck at the bottom of a depth chart in NYR. I get wanting something useful back for him but at this point he isn't going to play enough to develop into an asset that is more valuable then his draft position.

Rangers suffer from their own good youthful defense and need to trade him for an equal prospect in a position of need. This isn't it but that trade is out there somewhere for him

If they can move him for equal value- then I'm fine with that...but due to several reasons he is buried on the depth chart- and the resulting lack of opportunity erodes his value. Unless Lundqvist really has an objection to playing the left side, I don't see much downside with a bottom pair rotation between Schneider, Nils, and Jones- eventually one of the 3 would have to be moved (unless Lindgren not part of the longer term plan)- but at least the trade value of the player moved (most likely Jones or Nils) would be based on NHL ice time. And if Nils would get some PP2 time (please- get Trouba off this unit!!) his numbers could warrant some value.
