I know lots of people from both sides like the garland-severson swap but garland had a career high in points this year with little pp time
nj has lots of rds and doesn't seem like they are gonna resign severson
so I would rather keep garland and our bad defense for a year, then shed some cap and go for a big name rd in fa

Devils wouldn't be interested in another 1B, and definitely not for Mercer. Swayman will be a Bruin until it's rebuild time, and then he'll be two 1sts and a prospect or two
