Detroit doesn't need Kylington, They're set long term at LD

Rather give the youngsters a roster spot than Toffoli.

So Detroit passes on both.

This is just plain silly. That trade is extremely lopsided in Detroit's favour. They take that and run the. Flip at the deadline for multiple 1sts which Zadina could never return at this point

Yeah I'm on this side of the argument. Unless Zadina really pops off this year at take that and deal with the roster later.

Both Kylington and Toffoli are rentals. I wouldn't trade Zadina, let alone a 2nd round pick, for a 31 year old rental winger and a rental defender.

Lol what does age have to do with anything if they are rentals? Crazy misconceptions people have on that. Age matters for how they will age with the contract down the line. Like the recent Kadri signing, or Logan Couture. Rentals aren't going to fall off a cliff in 2 weeks. Toffoli at 50% would easily return a 1st from a contender. And Kylington gets at least a 2nd.

Zadina on the other hand might pass through waivers this year

Both age and contract status is important when trading for players. Age is important for your desire to resign them and contract status is important for your desire to acquire them in the first place.

If you are unable to understand that then I can't help you.

Oh, BTW. Your post isn't funny. It's never funny when someone makes a fool of himself.

Sutter wanted Toffoli. I can't see Calgary trading him.

Agreed but I don't think Toffoli is available. Flames are a win now team and Toffoli is a part of that. He's well schooled in Sutter hockey 101.

When you are trading a borderline bust for a top 6 winger and a top 4 defenseman you don't ask questions. The only one making a fool of themselves here is you since you have horrible player evaluation

The Panthers gave up a 1st plus in aquiring both Chiarot and Giroux, and the Flames gave up a 2nd and 3rd for Calle Jarnkrok. All 3 of those guys were trade deadline rentals who walked afterwards, and are on the wrong side of 30. I'm sure those teams wanted to get those players to stick around for more than ~15-20 regular season games, but couldn't afford it.

When teams are good, they're willing to give up significant futures in hopes of success in the present. They don't care about age or contract status. They care about results.

If you are unable to understand that, then I can't help you.

Toffoli is typically good for about 20 goals and 50 points, and isn't a traffic cone defensively. Kylington had finally established himself on Calgary's blue line this year as a middle pairing guy on one of the best teams defensively. Both guys, at least right now, are a lot better than Zadina. And I'm skeptical that that will change.

Why would Calgary do this? This trade makes ZERO sense for Detroit as far as personnel and Detroit still takes that trade in a heartbeat and laughs all the way to the bank. This would be an absolute thievery for Detroit. We'd figure out the personnel issues after and end up with even more assets.
