That’s a lot of it’s with Huberdeau. I don’t think anyone should think that Tkachuck won’t be the better player over the next 8 years lol.

He has to be a 90pt+ to match his production, and actually be good defensively to be better. I'm not convinced that Tkachuk is a huge producer or an amazing defensive player, but he did just go to a team that had a bunch of goals throughout the entire line, and he will be playing with Barkov probably. So, perhaps he finds himself in a system that makes him look good, and Huberdeau finds himself in one that makes him look bad. We won't know what things would be like if the trade never went down, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hubeardeau was the better player for 4 or 5 of those years, or if that Tkachuk's best years will be last season and the next two, by far.

He is fantastic but I think Tom Wilson and Matthew Tkachuk are overrated because of their physicality, of course Tkachuk is a much more talented player than Wilson-I'll be curious to know, between Tkachuk and Barkov, who will have the better between the legs shot %- but they are overrated. Tkachuk is a turnover machine, which will only get worse when he slows, luckily his contract would probably be close to over by then or over. I don't think he will technically have fallen off just don't think he's a true 100pt player. If he proves me wrong, then that will be great for FLR and hockey there, I think he gets 90pts with similar scoring across the League to last year.

I could see Huberdeau be similar to Thornton who was a top playmaker up to age 37 due to his passing ability and vision, and still decent until 40. Huberdeau's contract expires when he's 38, he might be overpaid for half or more but could still be effective, so he might have the better career even if Tkachuk is better for most of those years. None of that matters to CGY though, what matters is what he can do for them this season and the next 5 after that.

Ah yes the old geezer with the vaccine mandate trades his franchise center for the only unvaxxed guy in the NHL. Brilliant.

Not in skill they are not but they are both regarded highly, to different extents, due to their physicality+offense.

There’s a huge difference between Larkin and Barzal. Any conversation that equates the two shouldn’t be taken seriously.

True. Larkin is better.
