Description

Habs need cap space. After his amazing play in the World Championships, it's clear to a lot of teams what Armia has to give. Stats-wise over his career he's good for 29 pts/season even if he had a terrible year last year (what Hab didn't). His physical play is high though, so maybe we can actually get something for him. Even just getting the cap space is enough.

Calgary is teetering on a rebuild with every current roster player expiring after the 2024 season outside of Andersson, Coleman, Markstrom. I don't think Calgary locks into a bottom 6 guy at nearly 3.5M for 3 more seasons.

Rumours with the Flames? It would surprise me for sure, he's a good trade chip I just don't really see the fit. Interesting if true though! That's why people smarter than me run teams.

I can confirm I've seen the Armia to Calgary rumours. I can think of one "source" off the top of my head and it's not someone I put much stock in. Still, it's quietly out there.

Been an odd and interesting offseason thus far. Let's see what happens with this.

Calgary isn't taking on Armia at the cost of signing kylington or mangiapane. The only way Calgary is trading for a player is if AAV is going elsewhere.
