Avs help the Isles get Kadri

Description
The Beauvillier trade is based on the Bjorkstrand return for Columbus. Since the picks here aren't in 2023 here and also probably won't be as high, this is clearly a worse return for the Isles. However, Bjorkstrand has proven to be the better player so far in their respective careers. Thus, I feel like it's in the neighborhood under current market conditions.

I added Kaut for Salo in the trade as well. I think this helps both teams, as Salo fills a need in the Avs prospect pool and Kaut can provide an affordable option for the Isles going forward as their forwards age and begin to roll off (starting with Bailey). I also think Kaut would fit in well with the Isles and not so much in Colorado.

Tbh, I hate the Kadri signing for the Isles. They double down on aging forwards, and I'm still not even sure they're a Cup contender. However, it sure looks like it may happen, so I'm running with it.

For Colorado, I don't like it as much as if they were to sign Kadri, but they get a couple players that could fit their team and system at an affordable price.

This is a terrible trade for the isles. Arguably worse than the Toews trade

Hard to imagine the Isles agree to this considering the fact you asked for Robin Salo too. Dude isn’t a throw in. As crazy as it sounds Garth Snow was pretty good at drafting defenseman lmao.

Meanwhile I find it hard to believe Lou is gonna trade beau for this little unless he’s shedding additional salary in the deal. The Isles don’t have to sign Kadri. And if this is the price then Lou should be executed for Treason lol. Cause there is no other explanation for his bull**** rn.

Isles also can’t move Salo because he is their third pair guy next year. Hell he was playing with Dobson before the Romanov deal. There may have been a point where he was penciled in on the second pair!

It doesn't matter if it's bad though. What matters is if it's worse than the Bjorkstrand trade. That kinda set the precedent.

I get that it sucks for the Isles. Seems to be the price for signing a top ufa though.

Asking for the isles top D prospect and Beauvillier for Kaut (who will never be an NHL regular) is absurd. The difference is the isles aren’t being forced to move Beauvillier

Can the isles have girard for a 3rd rd pick? That’s no different than what you’re doing here

Again, it's all based on the Bjorkstrand deal. That's the best read on the market we have. Kaut for Salo can be dropped, but it's not easy to move money in this market.

We don’t actually have verification Kadri has signed tho. But it’s a slow news week so I get it lol.

I agree to a point. But if league sources don’t buy Kadri to the isles as a lock then the Bjorkstrand trade isn’t a good comparison. It’s entirely dependent on their cap situation.

If Kadri really is going to the isles then Lou should tell him to go talk to other teams so someone believes they don’t need to move Beau Lmao.

Just send Kadri to talk to other teams. It shouldn’t be too hard for him to pretend he’s crazy lol.

Then move Beau and Bailey for fair value and sign him 😂

who said the isles wanted to move Beauvillier? There's no difference in trading Barzal and Beau.

Sure, and I'm still hoping Colorado gets Kadri. I said before that he's a good signing for Colorado and a really bad signing for the Isles. If the latter does happen, this is kinda what the offseason indicates.

Obviously Lou should look for better deals, and he may find one. I didn't totally pull this out of nowhere. Salo plated 16 minutes per game, so let's not pretend he's some top pairing guy. And he just got moved further down with the Romanov trade. I may have missed the boat on that part, but it had to do with who is waivers exempt.

I like how fans like to take the isles top prospects and throw them into the deal like no one can see them.

No we don’t have a good prospect pool. That doesn’t mean you can take us for all we r worth either lol.

Salo is waivers exempt I think. But either way he’s not getting traded cause he didn’t play heavy minutes as a rookie. Dude will fill the Leddy/Toews role well enough on the 3rd pair. Not saying he is as nearly as good as either player. I’m just saying his role will be as the 3rd pair puck handler.

no one said Salo projects as a top pair D, he's a likely #4 that run the 2nd PP unit, which is why hell be on the isles this season.

Find someone who looks at you the way Anthony Beauvillier looks at Mat Barzal — Anders Lee

Sometimes guys get undervalued cause they r being pushed down the depth chart. In truth I’m very confident in the isles d core because I think it’s 6 guys strong.

Again that is harder for other fanbases to evaluate tho. They aren’t watching Robin Salo with their clipboards out lol.

Beauvillier drives his own line, plays in all situations and is one of the best playoff performers in the league over the last 3 seasons.

It was more that Aho is not exempt and would potentially get claimed if not on the roster. That and cap crunch. But yeah, we can leave the Salo/Kaut part out.

I will say that Kaut is an NHL regular if given the shot. His game is perfect for the Isles.

I don’t view Kuat as much more than a throw in rn. It’s not about the player as much as it is about the fact I haven’t seen him play recently. When you are dealing with a guy who hasn’t played much entering the last year of his ELC you have to understand that his value isn’t high. Kuat hasn’t even been exceptional at the AHL level.

Kaut is going to be 23 in October and he's never been PPG in the AHL. He'll fit the isles in terms of being another forward prospect who can't be a full time player.
