I saw Power and started laughing. They aren’t going to trade the best prospect in hockey. The idea of a big trade isn’t bad but I don’t see them considering it for a minute

Trade from a place of organizational strength to fill multiple holes of organizational weakness. I don't think this is a bad trade for Buffalo if they want to compete for a cup. They are getting an Elite player back in Hellebuyck as well.

Buffalo has a lot of development to go before they compete for a cup, well past Helly and Scheifele's contract expiration.

Buffalo obviously doesn't wanna compete yet. And, this is a bad trade regardless. Swap Power with Samuelsson and you'd have a deal.

Also, Okposo isn't a cap dump. He's literally the heart and soul of Buffalo.

Trading win now players to a rebuilding team in exchange for a recent first overall pick and another first round pick in the deepest draft since 2015. Ok sir

They are going to be a 500 team or slightly above. They just aren’t ready to make big moves yet.

I totally don't feel that way. Really enjoyed the Sabres last year. Palat was a bit of a head scratcher though...

Okposo, just bought a house in Buffalo. He spent the summer here and is imbraceing the community the Sabers and the rebuild. He has one year left on his contract. I'm sure the Sabers are going to either resign him after it's done or find him another position in the organization. Cap is definitely not the problem for the Sabers. There's few assets the Sabers are willing to give up right now until they see how they are going to work out.
