Détails additionnels:
Winnipeg can't get fair value for PLD out of Montreal with 1 or 2 players, and he's currently killing his market value with the help of his agent. So I thought of a way to do it in aggregate.
Montreal retains 33% out of Anderson, Dvorak and Hoffman and trade all three to Winnipeg for the RFA rights of PLD.
Retained salary of MTL would be $4.7M in total
Winnipeg then takes these three players and, in turn, retain 33% of their salaries and trade them for what I assume would be generous returns.
Josh Anderson supposedly has teams calling MTL constantly. At $2.4M for the foreseeable future, Winnipeg would be able to cash in big by trading him.
Mike Hoffman is a perrenial 20 goal scorer and PP specialist. On a team that has a good powerplay, he gets 20 goals per year almost without even skating, at $2M annually, he suddenly becomes very appealing.
Christian Dvorak has a reputation as a decent 2nd line center, I don't know where he got it or how, but he does. At $2M you've got teams looking for a luxury 3rd line center salivating.
For retaining $3.1M, Winnipeg could get multiple 1st and 2nd round picks + possibly decent prospects. A good way to power a team into a rebuild.
