Yeah, you have to ask yourself "why would Winnipeg did it? What's in it for them?"

At the same time, I feel like KH is playing off the fact that PLD's agent said he wanted to sign in MTL in two years and wouldn't sign a bigger deal than one that brings him to UFA.

So I think the Jets are trying to see if they can get a better offer for 2 years of the guy elsewhere...

Habs are in a good position to lowball as we are patient enough to wait for 2 years. So yeah, its a cheap offer by design.

Lortie I have no idea about but Leclerc is supposed to be quite reputable around Montreal. He usually does not report on rumors though, that is what makes this one so interesting.

Like I said at the beginning, this trade is absolutely ridiculous for Winnipeg but given that Leclerc usually does not report on rumors and sticks to actual stories that is what makes these rumors truly interesting. I also don't know who came up with the players (if it was just evolved on Twitter or Leclerc or someone else) which is the reason I am not buying it as being even remotely close to true. You can see from Leclerc's post that all he says is 3 players were offered, so I suspect it is just Twitterverse gone mad LOL.

I wish someone in the control centre of the Sportsnet broadcast spotted the Dubois clan in the stands and caught their reaction when the Dach trade was announced.

Maybe there is a reason the deal did not go thru. The supposed offer was not good enough.
