i think it's definitely fair because i hate it but i can't really build a strong argument against it. i want more trades like this in the NHL but not when it's trading the guys i'm attached to!

that being said, I think both GMs chicken out on this deal.

Islanders hang up laughing. In what world would the isles want to do that? Dubois won’t sign a seven year deal anyway and he’s not the same level player as Barzal.

As far as I’m aware Barzal generates opportunities at a much higher clip than Dubois. I’m also pretty sure Dubois had the same number of points as Barzal last season despite playing with far superior wingers lol.

I think Winnipeg wins the Islander deal (because it sure doesn’t seem like PLD is signing long term anywhere yet)
Chicago deal is probably fair.
Pionk deal is fair.
I think Winnipeg fleeces Florida there
Edmonton one is probably fair

Pionk deal is terrible for Winnipeg. Puljujvari deal is terrible for Edmonton. Barzal deal is terrible for NYI. Wheeler deal is terrible for Florida. Stanley trade is a wash.

Dubois had 60 points playing with Connor and Ehlers. Barzal had 59 points playing with Parise and Bailey. That’s a super hard pass for Ny.

Can't think of one wintery reason why Hornqvist would have Winnipeg on his trade list. And the trade doesn't solve Panthers cap issues at all.
