Only thing that could make this worse
IF Hughes drafts his son with MTL's last remaining 1st round pick

If he does im going to tag the local molson brewery
No way that level of stupidity can go unchecked

$20+ M in bottom 6 wingers, that’s one way to go. In all seriousness Dach has so much potential and the ability to become a high end playmaking center. I’d pair him with Caulfield and tell them just get better. Got to admit I like that move a lot. Skipping on Shane Wright to do it, well that might be a different story.

He has potential to maybe be a Dvorak one day at best
That said Dvorak lead ARZ in Goals Scored 2/2 last years there beside solid goal scorers

Sure there's value there but not at a Top Pair LD value
This is Drouin for Sergachev but worse as we also gave up the 1st pick in the 3rd round on top of this . . .
We just 1 up'd ourselves in most bonehead move

I think you’re confused.

This was Romanov + a 3rd + a 4th for Dach…
This is much, much better than Drouin for Sergachev.

Only way this makes it even slightly the same, is if Kent signs Kirby to a 6yrs x 5.5mil deal

Dach has significantly more potential than Dvorak ever did. He is a huge kid, who really does have elite potential as a playmaker. I saw him twice in person against COL (not that I know anything lol) but he was doing all the right things and made some outstanding passes. It probably doesn’t help that Makar posterized him. Give him a chance, I mean you kind of have to now.

The only time I ever noticed dach was when he did that spin move in the neutral zone around his defender. Can’t remember for the life of me who he deeked tho

The cap was only part of the problem
Are you telling me if Drouin signed at lets say 3m it suddenly makes the trade even or a win?
That's what your asserting by making this argument

Us giving up an Extra pick makes my point more valid and yours less valid in context to the point i was making in my statement.
Drouin's cap is a Symptom of the Disease

Clearly you never watched Dvorak in Junior like i did
Didnt see much Dach Live but it was no where near as impressive
Little more speed and a little less power but Dvorak was always Top Center when on ice no questions asked
Dach and Haden was actually a coin flip his draft year and before that he was 2nd/3rd line center

Dvorak was playing with Domi and Marner before setting records with Marner and Tkachuk
Winning a Memorial Cup as the Top Center and playing for Team USA winning a Bronze was a great year for him going out on top
By comparison Dach has accomplished nothing

No but I watched Dvorak for years with the Yotes and was shocked MTL gave up a 1st for him. But to each their own.

Yotes suck and if you watch them you know this
Why you're trying to pin it on him despite being one of the Yotes few 1st rounders who didnt bust or leave is beyond me

Dvorak didnt hit the 2nd Center projections most expected but a solid 3rd line Center
2/2 last years with ARZ he lead all ARZ Goal Scorers in Goals including Keller,Garland,Kessel, ext

After returning off IR under MSL he played 22 games
In those 22 he has 17 points and a 72% win rate

im not upset given his play vs Kotkanemi's and the context of what we gave up in a late 1st in 2022 and a late 2nd in 2024
Thats a steal and an upgrade
Before he took time off to rehab his injury we were worried 100%
When he came back he was 2nd only 2 Suzuki at Center and it wasnt just by Proxy this time

I get what you're trying to say
I'm just saying 1+1 doesnt equal 11

Typical Fantasy League fans with a 1 dimensional POV that ignore's context
