I don't think it makes sense for the Habs. LD is pretty stacked with prospects. We have very few RD. The money is right but Bolts are trying to move salary out and the Habs need more RD.

It doesn’t make sense for TB since the point of trading McDonagh is to shed cap not a lateral move

It’s not even a lateral move. Mcdonagh is better than petry

Petry is better offensively, McDonough is better defensively. If say it balances its self out.

no it doesn't. Tb doesn't need more offense from the backend by sacrificing defense. They got Hedman and Sergi to move the puck and run the pp. Petry is no where near what TB needs. Montreal is not going to get anywhere near McDonagh value as a return . Montreal pretty much has no choice unless they're going to force a man to live away from his family. Good luck signing other players pulling a s*** bag stunt like that.

What are you even going on about? Lol I state a simple 'they're both good players' comment. And where does the trouble signing other players thing come from? When did the Montreal Canadiens force a person to live away from his family? Have the gotten charged for a kidnapping I didn't know about?

If they don't trade Petry that'll be exactly what they are doing.. obviously n ot literally but by not trading him essentially that is what they'd be doing and TB has less than zero need for Petry

Except that Petry already stated he would be happy to stay. Most mandates in Quebec has been lifted, his wife and family would be able to return. Hughes only trades him if the price is right for them.

You are right though, Tampa would never need him as long as Hedman and Cernak are there, which should be longer then Petry even has left playing in this league.
