VAN could add a pick or something else could be worked out for value. The basis is the deal is that TBL gets Miller and saves big money to allocate to other players for another run next year. Realistically both Sergachev and Killorn may be cap casualties in the 2023/24 offseason for them, so if they can make a deal to upgrade the team overall for next year it might be worth it.

Concerning for who? I've had fans of both teams say they wouldn't do the deal.

Miller is not getting all that.

Maybe the 1st is removed or different picks are involved, but my reasoning is;
- VAN gets a good, young long-term Dman
- TBL gets the best player in the deal and almost 6 mill in additional cap space for the year

As I mentioned in a comment above, if Tampa feels like they may lose Sergachev as a cap casualty next year, maybe they make a deal to improve the team for another run this season.

But they won't lose Serg. McD is already apparently being possibly shopped and even if he stays, he'd get moved after next season. Miller is a great player but Tampa isn't at the point where they are going to an all in move like this. With no chance of extending Miller, it's not a fit. If Serg was made available, Tampa would be looking at a good prospect/younger player that's ready to contribute(at a position of need), a 1st/2nd(depending on the other pieces), and a decent cost controlled roster player that could also help for more than one year.

You either undervalue Sergachev or over Miller he's really not substanially if any better than Sergachev Killorn is light years better than schenn.

Sergachev if available gets a kings ransom from the bidding war that ensues.
