Bruce Gone Krejci Back Changes Made

Description
With Bruce gone, word on the street is that Krejci might come back.
Krejci and Bergeron take hometown discounts. I don't think that they are looking to get a large AAV.
Nosek is a versatile bottom six forward that could help out any team.
Reilly to the Kings where they could use a LD, he could fit their style of play as well.
Devils trade is fair IMO. Bruins take a risk on Wood as he had hip surgery, while they receive Mercer who had a great rookie season and a second rounder as well. Devils take on Foligno's contract but could use his presence for their younger team. Debrusk can be a solid winger for them with their fast paced team, while Grzelcyk can succeed with them as well with his skating and his breakout abilities.
With some cap open, Bruins sign Ahcan to fill in for McAvoy while he is injured, as well as Giroux as a big name free agent. Not sure if Giroux is looking for some term but 3 years at 6.25m is fair. Wood being signed at 3m is also fair considering his surgery and overall career. Lazar is rewarded with a raise as he carried the fourth line all last year. Frederic will be put into the lineup while Marchand is out but once he is back in, Frederic becomes the odd man out.

devils dont need a puck moving LD. We need another player exactly like miles wood not to trade him and we dont need a 4th line center.

I'd disagree slightly. I think they could use a bottom 6 center who is good defensively and can win face-offs to replace Eakin. I don't know if Nosek is that guy or not but he does profile in that build. I know many people try to discount face-offs as being unimportant, yet multiple times this past season we saw goals scored within seconds of the Sabres losing a defensive zone face-off. Girgensons has only come close to 50% once and it was last season, the rest of the centers have been downright terrible on them.

The faceoff percentage difference is definitely not enough to bring in another bottom six forward. Also, winning faceoffs is a learned skill so it's not really enough to take away a roster spot from someone else.

NJ isn’t going to move a sophomore former 1st rounder with a high ceiling, Miles Wood, and a 2nd rounder in a loaded draft, for those pieces…

Yes, it's a learned skill. However how many players have gone from 40% or even 45% on face-offs to 50% in their careers? It's not very many outside of players having low percentages in their rookie seasons.. Most improvements are incremental and happen over the course of years. The Sabres had the worst face-off percentage in the league, dead last at 46%. They lost 350 more face-offs than they won, that's 350 losses of possession which will only get worse without Eakin, just removing his numbers drops their percentage to 43.5% with over 450 more lost than won. Guys getting better at face-offs isn't going to make a huge dent in that number unless we are talking massive improvement that has never been seen before.

Also who is a 4th line center taking a roster spot from exactly? You want to play Peterka on the 4th line? Quinn? Krebs? Cozens? Mittelstadt? anyone? Putting top 9 offensive players into defensive roles isn't going to help the team. The only one in the top 9 who can play well in that role is probably Asplund, and he's far more useful with Mittelstadt and Olofsson helping make up for their defensive deficiencies.

Mercer put up as many point as Debrusk’s career high in is 19yo rookie season. Terrible for NJD.
