We have so many RD's, Holl wouldn't fit with LA.

Don't see Chicago as the place for Kerfoot.

Nashville gets fleeced.

That Varlamov trade is straight-up disrespect.

Holl is by far the easiest to move if its not LA I was under the impression they didnt have RHD
Kerfoot analysis just doesn't make sense
HOW? Nashville has a 27 year old star G and get a blue chip defence prospect for a blue chip G prospect. Plus they get rid of Myers who they tried to bury the Marlies
Varlamov is a BACK UP and they get a 3rd rounder, B level prospect, and a G who comes in at $1.2M less than Varlamov and has struggled, yes, but has an NHL resume. Also only has 2 years left

the isles are only moving varlamov for quality assets or for cap space. they get neither in this trade. that’s not even enough to dump mrazek.

Kings RD Depth: Doughty, Roy, Walker, Durzi, Clarke, Faber, Grans

Askarov is worth more than Sandin in my opinion, if Askarov is available you won't be alone on getting him.

Varlamov doesn't have a negative worth enough to justify cap dumping Mzarek for an extra year.

LA needs LHD. They have an embarrassment of riches on the right.

Doughty
Roy
Walker
Durzi
Spence
Grans
Clarke
Faber

All right handed. This doesn't include Stecher, Strand, Allard, or Nogler. All of whom were in the organization this past season but are unlikely to return.

What makes Askarov more valuable than a 21 year old D man who has excelled in the NHL and is a blue chip prospect? Also given the fact of where the organization is with goaltending. In fact, its way more of a risk/reward for TOR

Getting a solid RHD prospect developing the AHL and a 3rd round pick for a 34 year old G is good value. Taking on Mrazek for 1 year at 3.8 is not a terrible trade off

Don't know how unclaimed waiver Myers and AHLer Duszak improve the Leafs defence. 4.25m Strome isn't better than 3.5m Kerfoot.

Actually yeah I could see the Preds one maybe working, don't think the Leafs want to move Sandin though, he takes over when Muzzin is traded after he gives his list next season.

But if I'm the Isles I'd rather just eat a year of Varmalov (who performed fine stats wise) than two of Mzarek.

NSH has an abundance of left shot defensemen in their development system already. And with Josi and Ekholm signed for years, there isn't going to be much in the way of openings on the left side for the Preds. I know Sandin can also shift over to the right, but so can Lauzon, who just got a four year extension. Sandin doesn't address a need for NSH, and Abramov doesn't move the needle. Preds don't consider this.

Anything the Kings can give up for Askarov, with Campbell looking meh we may need to get a stud backup.

Campbell?

NSH is very high on Askarov. Can't see them moving him. I wouldn't think he's ready to jump in and be an NHL backup yet anyway.
