This trade could actually be a win for all 3 teams

I don't see Montreal throwing away Dvorak after they just traded a 1st+ for him last year. Columbus also doesn't look to move Kuraly who just signed a 4 year contract to play in his home town last year and Montreal could easily be on his no trade list considering his history in Boston.

And we need to think that if we select Wright or and Cooley they need to be protected and not rush as the second center. Dvorak give time for young prospect to enter with low responsibility and upgrading over time slowly.

Huge no from the devils. Yes it is known that Montreal has interest in the devils pick but they have nothing good to offer them for it so they aren’t getting it

I've seen a lot of rumors that they are very interested in Josh Anderson and have tried to trade for him multiple times last year. They also have picks 26, 33 and Floridas next year. I could definitely see MTL having enough appealing assets for NJ but I don't think a trade for 2 will get done

Josh Anderson is not of that much interest to the devils that they are going to give up the 2OA and they are not giving up the 2OA for other picks because they are trying to leave a rebuild not continue it. Montreal wants 2OA it starts with Caufield

Caufield, Suzuki, Romanov and Guhle is currently unavailable for everything. Trade Caufield to have chance to draft Slafkovsky is actually doing a step back in rebuilding for Habs.

Like I say upstairs the trade can have other pick them the second overall pick. For exemple a mid prospect from NJ with both second round pick from 2022 and 2023 could be interesting.

NJD can acquire a legitimate superstar for the 2nd overall pick. They’re not going to accept relative scraps to that. They will be dealing it for a player like Debrincat or Fiala or even someone better perhaps.

Josh Anderson is a fine player, but not nearly worth the caliber of player that Devils pick could bring back.

This is the exact reason why a deal won't be done for 2OA. It's not that Devils fans actually think Habs fans should trade Caufield for 2OA, it's that he is really the only asset that the Habs have that makes sending out 2OA worth OUR while.

Again, garbage value for NJ.

2OA snags you an ELITE forward or a TOP 2 Defenseman, and they would be between 20 and 26 years old... not a bunch of roster players.
