if you think we're doing that deal under duress you're delusional. this isn't a must for us it's a want.
Boston on the other hand HAS to do something. Florida is taking the conference by the throat right now.</div></div>
I think is more Vegas who start the ball rolling. From the moment Vegas and Washington have made the Mantha trade, the market have start to be active.
Floride have upgrade, now Avalanche, Oiler and Ranger have done move to upgrade also. So who's next ? I'm curious to see if there will be still player available for deadline at the time limits on the 8 mars.

Why would Montreal give up two second round pick for gain nothing much. If they trade pick this will be for moving up in draft or for an youngish player to add to the core group. Dach Newhook trade type.

Korpisalo would probably bounce back on an good team like he did when he have been trade to L.A so is less an dump then Campbell who is not even able to perform in AHL league.

Savard to EDM
This have been already say that Kent Hughes sont want to trade Savard away but could listen to trade offer and that the minimum price is first round pick if not more as the team management like alot of him.
Montreal don't need Ceci and don't want to take is other year contract under getting something back to be worth it.
The third round pick don't be needed to be trade with Savard and would be probably use on trade to go up in draft or get and youngish Roster player to add to the core group already in place.

If Monahan dump cost one first round pick, Campbell it's at least two or three first round pick minimum. No one will freely take this contract on without due reward.
But yeah Edmonton could do an defense/goaltender upgrade.

Elias Pettersson will resign with Vancouver and don't think Montreal want to give up Dach and Hutson . With 2024 Habs first round they got an chance to get lotterie #1 or Cayden Lindstrom / Ivan Demidov so no deal.

This trade do not work for Montreal as they only have one retention slot available two of the three already used on Petry and Edmundson. To use is last retention slot Kent Hughes would probably want something really good to burn that last negotiations tool.
Now for the valuation of this trade, not sure Seattle fan would love that return for Larsson.

It's more center then wing we need, as of now we got Suzuki, Evans and white center as I see more Newhook on the wing at moment. Maybe like last year Kent Hughes will select someone from waiver for is depth like Tierney last year. He already have started with white.

May not is type but Pearson is at is last year contract and don't have alot of value so like I say could be low pick (5 to 7) or consideration future or even not traded.
If they're doing body swap that would probably be for an bottom six center with one year contract maybe ?

by elimination we remove, Guhle, Xhekaj, Struble ,Matheson and Savard as trade potential so that leave kovacevic, harris that could be use but again is that what the team want ? Kova could be a cheap depth player that team want to series playoff in case of injury and Harris is still young not sure to want to give up already on him but yeah team got so many Defense Prospect that at one moment they will need to make decision and move one or two D prospect to get Offense.

New Jersey don't need offense right now there problem is that they miss the beast Dougie Hamilton.
<strong>IF</strong> they are buyer at deadline it would be for an top 2/4 D-man and an goaltender otherwise if they're gonna miss the playoffs I could see then be conservative seller and trade guys like Toffoli / Smith / Miller who's UFA this summer.
Could get an really good return for Toffoli and give him back an contract this summer to return as he have good chemistry with the guys.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AC14</b></div><div>Buffalo is still in a perpetual rebuild. Chicago is the worst team in the league and things wont get better, if they do for years. Their only saving grace is that they won the lottery in a good year to win it. Neither of those scenarios are smart to shoot for. As for Chicago I wouldn't consider Dach elite, and Debrincat isn't a center but is a 1st line center. Neither were signed to term and it was a new regime that came in to committ to a full rebuild.
Lets go with this in terms of your hypothetical. If the Blues get an offer of Nemec/Jiricek + 1st + a young player who is playing and great and developing well hell yes i take that and run. But that doesn't signify a full rebuild and no team should or would do that type of a deal. There are very few scenarios in which the Blues can consider moving Parayko. And they all begin with a very high end defenseman prospect who is 1-3 years out coming back in return. Who is going to trade that for Parayko?</div></div>
An team that see is window closing soon and is not enough patients to wait the young prospect growth could go for him at summer. An gm who's feel is job in danger and do trade to try to stay in place.
Like you say in the right scenario he could become available but not necessarily for nothing.

Buffalo did with Eichel he has 24/25 and still was on rebuilding face. It's may not be an rebuild and more an retool in there case but what if Blues get an offer of A+ prospect, First round pick in an good year draft and an youngish Roster player for Parayko ? You would at least take the time to listen and think about it.
Edit: just think about it, Chicago did it also with Dach and Debrincat, trade both of them when they were in rebuilding mode.

Wouldn't be surprised if Pearson goes for future consideration or a low pick (5 to 7) at deadline when every plan A,B,C and D is gone. As depth Forward for series he could interest some team but not much value.

At this point Savard bring more to the team on ice and outside the ice over the value an late first round pick have. Now if there was an interesting forward prospect coming back Montreal would probably think about it.

He could become available if Blues Really need to Fully rebuild / Retool as he have good value and could bring back excellent return. And if there an trade it would be more an summer trade as it is more easy to work cap space.
But your right no team will ever take that much retention for this less value. If there was one or two year maybe team would entertain the idea of retention but not 6 years.

I also hoping that Cayden Lindstrom is available at Montreal pick but I think someone like him will be gone before #7 or #8 pick.
Connelly seen an good goal scorer and could be decent addition to Montreal core forward.
One that intrigued me is Dean Letourneau 6.7 around 200 livre could be an decent pick around the Winnipeg pick near the end of first round.

Crosby To MTL
Crosby is one of the player in the league which would never be traded. He is draft by the team and will end with the team. At is age I don't think there team who will want to pay is real value in asset to get 2 to 4 years of Crosby. Is best value is to be with Pittsburgh.
Could it be cool to have the Crosby type of player coming in Montreal as they would become competitive and bring talent and experience, yeah but not gonna happen.

Money wise this don't work for Avs. value wise again not working for Avs. Armia value is low I wouldn't be surprised to se him goes for an fifth or fourth round pick max and while doing Evans for Johansson to help Colorado reduce there salary cap could be an idea, the trade would be that costly to do.

Zegras is more of an Winger right now then an center and if he want to play top 6 with Montreal he would still need to be winger. There no way he pass over Suzuki or Dach. Not sure about Newhook as third center but if you go get an player like Zegras is because he will play on your top 6 at least.

I can get the fact that Colorado wanted backup experience to support there goaltender but what is valuable for them here ?
Johansson don't work as he should be (2c) and Evans would probably be doing the same job at cheaper deal but not sure that is interesting for them. If Monahan was not trade to Jets I would have say that an trade for him swap would be better.
Monahan 50% and Allen to get Johansson + first round pick.
Colorado would have received better center and get there backup they want and for Montreal you turn the third goalie problem into an center equilibrium ( -1 center and + 1 center) in the roster. Evans would still be your third Center and you add Gignac as your fourth one. This way there less stressed on both Suzuki/Evans.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>philbert5309</b></div><div>Dallas declines. Stankoven is their top prospect, and they're counting on him being a top, cheap contributor in the future as guys like Pavelski, Duchene, Seguin, and Benn move on. You'd have to blow them away on an offer to get him. I could see Dallas trading a 1st and a decent prospect, but a 1st and a 3rd and their top prospect? Not going to happen.
Matheson would be a great add, but Nill doesn't spend big at the TDL. Since he took over in 2013, he's pretty much only added depth at the TDL. His big trades have been in the offseason.
I'm also confused as to why Ylonen is included in this trade.</div></div>
I can see Dallas using Maverick Bourque as trade bait before stankoven as they like him really well. So your right there won't be an Stankoven trade.
Also Dallas don't have alot of cap space, less then 2m at deadline which will be hard to fit any big contract except if an bad contract going out at same time.
