Canes have no reason whatsoever to do that. Stolarz is good, but holds no value to the Canes with the goaltending depth they have already amassed. Don’t know who Tracey is, but he is looking like an NHLer in about 2 years time, which doesn’t help the Canes now. And the second is just magic beans, but I will take the Canes 2nd round draft luck any day. That being said, Canes pass.

If you'd like Nylander, the Leafs would probably require one of Zegras or McTavish somewhere in that deal.

Like there would be other pieces, but there's zero reason for the Leafs to do that trade as is. It's kinda interesting, Zegras and Nylander have almost the exact same first two seasons (other than +/-).

I'm a Leafs and think Nylander is well worth 7m X 2 years. But the gotta think the Leafs take that trade in order to gain cap space....especially for a goalie.
Think you've overpaid for Provorov. Surely you can find a competent and good LHD for 6.75m via UFA and not give up your first rounder.
