I like Jensen, but NSH can get someone else to play 3rd pair via FA and can keep their picks. Would be more interested if he had 2 years left instead of 1-- but I could probably be convinced.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to take on a goalie, as I doubt Smith will retire. I’m hoping he does.. but I don’t think he will. Someone else can take Samsonov, but I feel like you can get more than that for him..

Don’t you have Lauzon to do that? Josi, Ekholm, Farrence, Carrier, Fabbro, Lauzon. Also, you have Myers too that you guys could try out.

Jensen >>>> Schultz. I like Schultz but he's a bottom pairing defensemen now, Jensen is a very strong defensive top 3 defensemen.

Oshie won't be traded and if he is, no way BMac sends him to OTT. Oshie would have to ask for a trade and BMac would make sure he'd be traded to a team he wants to go to.

Keep Sammy. Not worth sending him away for scraps. His ceiling is too high.

I have a feeling Farrance starts in the AHL, so they have Josi, Ekholm, Carrier, Fabbro, Lauzon, and Borowiecki -- if they can get someone to split games with Lauzon and Boro then they're set. I don't think Myers has a future in NSH unfortunately. I wouldn't mind signing a guy like Braun to a 1-year, higher AAV (just to secure him) deal since NSH has the cap space.

That’s fair. It doesn’t hurt to have some extra depth if you have the cap. Braun would be a good addition, especially if there are injuries. I also thought they would start Farrence in the NHL. About Myers, that sucks. I feel like he could turn into a decent defence man. When he went on waivers, I thought for sure a team like Buffalo, or Arizona would pick him up.

With all due respect, Minnesota isn't taking on Carl and have no need for him. So Minnesota says no

I don’t think Oshie or Hagelin have any value at all anymore considering their ages, injury history, and cap hits. Also I don’t think Jensen’s going anywhere, he’s our best defensive defenseman and has great chemistry with Orlov. Also, I’m currently against trading Sammy, but if they do, I think the return is larger, I’d definitely rather have him than Kahkonen. I think Ottawa would match on Gaudette.

I don't think Ottawa cares or should care about Gaudette. They don't need him and there's a massive logjam at forward coming up

And you'nre right. Oshie at his age, term and possible decline isn't the right fit for Ottawa. That 2nd round pick is also 39th OA (early 2nd)

The ONLY need they have at forward is a young enough CLEAR Top-6 winger to play with Stutzle for years

Man, everything about this is awful. Why make a Caps ACGM when you clearly don't follow the team at all?

This honestly might be the worst Caps ACGM i've seen. Schultz is not being brought back at any price, let alone more than what he made on his last contract. Oshie will not be traded -- I guarantee he has more value around the league than people think, but zero chance the Caps move him unless he specifically asks for a trade. Kahkonen is worse than samsonov, and sammy's contract would be cheaper anyways. If hagelin comes back from his eye injury, its costing picks to unload him. Jensen only moved before the season for a first + given how important he is to the team and his below market cap hit. A massive overpayment on Marchment too, someone who has played 70 good games in the NHL and has looked pretty bad everywhere else, including in the AHL. This team is worse at every spot than last years, and only gains a second and a third to do so.
