I'm saying that because he's going to try to turn Ehlers into a north-south kind of players when that's not really his game. Heinola should be on the 2nd pair next season but I don't even see him in the lineup if Trotz becomes the coach. Samberg and Stanley will likely get priority because they are over 6'0. For the jets to take the next step, Heinola and Perfetti need to be big parts of the team and I don't see that happening with Trotz there. I think the top 6 would be something like Connor-Dubios-Wheeler, Ehlers-Schiefele-Appleton

We'll see , Ovechkins defensive metrics didn't improve much under Trotz. Ovechkin was one of the worst defensive forwards in the league in Trotz's last 2 seasons with the caps

Engvall is bigger more physical and is better offensively, I think trotz is coming because his dad still lives in Manitoba and after his mom died I think he wants to be closer to his dad but who knows I could see him going to Detroit or Philly too

Nah, Trotz can't get this team to being a contender, he can get them into the playoffs and depending on who they match up against they MIGHT be able to steal a round or two but that's it, he isn't getting the Jets to contender status as they're presently built nor could he get this proposed team to being a contender either.

The Jets just aren't good enough and they're not built to play Trotz hockey, personally I don't see Trotz as a good fit for the Jets at all.

I'm skeptical about Trotz moving into GM-track job. Let's say he coaches for 3 years, then is an AGM for 2-3yrs that means he'd be a first time GM at 64-65 years old. I'd be interested to be a fly on the wall when he does his Assistant GM turn as the 'cap guy'.

That’s right wrong comment but that comment was also pretty bad, I definitely see Trotz as the perfect fit for the jets compared to the other teams in the league the Jets have a good individual defenceman who have been good in the past or are good currently (other than Stanley but he’s young) all their d core lacks is a good system/coach and I think trotz is just that and their forwards also lack defensive liability they play offence with no means of back checking trotz would help them out a lot there, I think a contender is around a top 8 team in the league and I think 1000% Trotz and this team can easily be a top 8 team in the league with the right system and lines
