I made a list of 10 UFA's at the end of this season. Predict where they'll sign, how much term and for how much. This is what I'm guessing/thinking:
Malkin - Penguins 7.5mil/3 years
Letang - Penguins 7.5mil/3 years
Bergeron - Bruins 6mil/2 years
Giroux - Panthers 5mil/3 years
Subban - Avalanche 1mil/1 year
Campbell - Leafs 5mil/4 years
Kuemper - Avalanche 5mil/4 years
Kadri - Avalanche 7mil/3 years
Palat - Red Wings - 6mil/4 years
Gaudreau - Flames - 9.5mil/8 years
Fiala to the Sens makes sense, the Sens have a handful of elc prospects who are legit Nhl ready.
Minne will have the most interesting off season of all teams, do they continue their Cup dreams or try for a quick rebuild or go full rebuild.
i see fiala name linked to ottawa on many acgm...but i am just not sure he is ottawa type of player....i get the sense that fiala could turn out to be another Bobby Ryan. i would prefer if sens went after either connor garland (van) or T.K out of philly and sign Giroux
I’m just not seeing a whole lot that makes sense here.
1. Letang and Malkin - I just can’t see the penguins going from 3x5 to 3x7.5
2. 2 years for bergeron just isn’t a thing.
3. Can’t really see giroux going for three years.
4. Subban will get more money in broadcasting than he will in the NHL. He’s washed.
5. Don’t think Campbell has earned that kind of money, and doubt the leafs could afford it.
6. Aves can’t afford both those deals. 7. Can’t really see giroux taking less than 10 mill.
When his contract expires, he walks (he might do that regardless). The next 4 years are important if they are going to keep him around, if they spend 2 or 3 of those years rebuilding why would he stay. Unless they instantly win the cup or make it to the conference finals at least.
