Weegar gets a far better return than that crap.

And Leddy wants $4,500,000 x 4 years. He's not signing that with Florida.

The Panthers have to move on from Bob. He wasn’t bad but he’s just not good enough to justify the pay. Maybe a trade to take on one of SJ’s big contracts?

That's a contradiction. None of San Jose's big contracts are worth their pay either. Bob played well, you said it yourself

SJ had big contracts they would want to move. Ottawa probably wants to move Murray

He's vastly overpaid with a NMC. He's not going anywhere.

Same can be said of Vlasic, or Ek in San Jose. Murray is also bad (worse than Bob) and overpaid

A Burns for Bob swap (With some stuff added) might be a thing... San jose had some very good drafts and getting a starting goalie could help accelerate the turn around and Florida could finally hand the reigns to Knight and open some money under the cap for the offseason spending cause they need to win now considering they don't have a first round pick until 2025.
Florida gets: Locked up 2RD to play behind Ekblad, 2 million dollars of cap space, an offensively gifted PP quarterback.
San Jose gets: Finally a starting goaltender that can bring them to the playoffs, a younger player that isn't likely to go bad as soon as Burns, they can pursue a younger free agent to replace Burns at a lower cost for their 2RD (Schultz, Manson, Subban?).

San Jose currently has 3 goalies fighting for the starting position next season already. Florida already has 4+ RD in their top 6. Your idea really doesn't take into account team needs. Also Knight is no where near ready for the starter role. Look how long it took for Saros to take over in Nashville

The Sharks are not making the playoffs any time soon without a miracle. I still don't understand why Hertl re-signed there.
