You’re wasting your time lol. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a guy make so many wrong predictions. If linehan10 says someone sucks, that player is going to have a great career. This is a good thing. I’d be concerned if he spoke highly of those players

What? Name another player I said would suck that became good? That’s a crazy argument

How many excuses can you make for the guy? Better to get out ahead of this and deal him before he becomes JHS. Or Dal Colle. It’s not a knock against him, really. A lot of guys never hit their potential.

He’s not Dal Colle or Ho-Sang. I think Ho-Sang averaged over half a point a game for the Isles, and whenever Dal Colle plays I kind of like his game in a depth role lol.

this was wahly's first full season and he had a really good stretch early on and finished the year strong. its not excuses when he literally played with terrible linemates. How are you supposed to produce on 10 minutes a night with Pageau and Bailey? its crazy

Oliver Wahlstrom is bad at hockey. Anthony Beauvillier is bad at hockey. Picks are meaningless. Open your eyes.

Scheifele is literally one of the worst defending forwards in the league by most reliable metrics. Never mind the fact that he's primarily a center, a position at which the Islanders are already more than set for the next few years. If you're going to spend big assets to get a big player, why are you going to get a player that you have to force off their primary position instead of just targeting a winger with that package? It's just bad asset management and doesn't recognize the issues with your team.

And beyond that, Wahlstrom has a grand total of 126 games played in the league so far - about a season and a half's worth. He's 21 and a recent 1st round pick. Treating him and your future 1sts as just expendable assets you don't care about is how Mike Milbury ran this team into the ground and isn't a smart way to run a team that is predominantly guys in their late 20s/early 30s right now. You're going to need fresh legs at some point and trading those picks for guys that don't fill any need in your lineup is once again, terrible asset management.

I agree with you. I think he can be the RW on Barzal’s line if you find a true 1st line LW for him.

we will get a true LW. Either Raty or Nelson move to LW or we go out and get one.

Agreed. Low key when @linehan10 mentioned JHS and MDC I was thinking about how I kind of want to see both of them get another chance in the league lmao

End of the day this team’s window is closing fast. Might be time to say this core isn’t working and try and find younger pieces to help Barzal and Dobson. Wahlstrom, Raty, Holmstrom, Bellows and Salo can all be a part of that.

I think that it wouldne be a bad idea to start the rebuild. We would have a great head start with a ton of super talented players. But tbh we are:
- Bailey and one of Palms, Varly or Pageau gone and + a 1LW and 2LD from contending. We just need to shed the cap

I think it’s more of a retool anyway. If we r lucky this is the Isles version of the TBL missing the post season in 2016-2017.

Far too much quantity, other than the 1st and far too little quality going to Winnipeg. The Jets say no.

I think that too. A role in Seattle for either of them could make them bottom 6 players with upside. They both had glimpses of brilliance at points and consistent TOI could help propel them back to the NHL

the Josh Ho Sang defenders became the kieffer bellows defenders and have now become the Oliver Wahlstrom defenders. I cry.

Bellows played well this year lol. As for JHS and MDC, everyone knows they were bad picks. That being said God-Emperor Garth Snow drafted Soroky and Toews in the 3rd and 4th to make up for his error lmao

ah yes, defending him so vigorously by saying "moving a guy after 126 career games to get a player at a position we don't need is a terrible idea"

Breaking News: After a new study showed that younger and faster players perform better than aging veterans, the Islanders elected to demote Oliver Wahlstrom to the ECHL.

Classic islanders fan - in favor of trading Dobson and a 1st for a mediocre top 6 forward 😭

Is @linehan10 Mike Milbury by any chance?
