Description
Sanheim- not sure if he’d be available but with his expiring contract, I could see Detroit making a move for him similar to Leddy last year. Flipping him at the deadline for assets, assuming one of Johansson, Wallinder, or Sebrango are ready for a call up.

Mangiapane- Calgary probably matches but they have like 8 roster spots to fill including resigning Tkachuk and Gaudreau so they may not have the space to match.

Cole- cheap, reliable LD stop gap

Holtby- experienced backup goalie

Berggren and Edvinsson make the team out of camp.

Fabbri replaces Smith in the lineup when healthy.

Calgary matches that easily.

Offer sheets only go through when they're for way more than the other club can afford, otherwise all they accomplish is bad blood between GMs, soured relationships with a player and the club, tied up assets while the process plays out and then if they actually go through - the prize is giving up a boat load of picks for an over paid player.

I will never understand the fascination with offer sheets.

I don't think Philly would accept that trade but I would take it.

I love the basic idea of this, but not the offer sheet. The wings have way too much young talent coming in the next couple of years to put that type of bullseye on themselves.

Cole is the type of player the wings should target, Holtby is a nice stopgap with upside to be a nice trade piece. Also love the idea of Sanheim but that isn't going to be enough for the Flyers to part with him, fits nicely with the wings expected plans.

As for the young players it comes down to who is coming over. We know that Johansson and Edvinsson are coming over. Reports of Viro and Wallinder also will be coming for camp as well that means you have to be careful with roster spots. Wallinder is the only one of that group not able to go to the AHL so that has to be taken into consideration.

If I’m Philly, I’m moving Provorov and extending Sanhiem. Travis has easily been the best player on the team overall. He deserves to take the top pair spot

That said, McIsaac is a solid prospect but still too big of a gamble to give up a sure thing. I think Wings might have to add a bit more

Flyers don’t consider that at all. Sanheim is worth far more than an ok D prospect and a third. Has to be a first coming back if the Flyers retain. Also I find it more likely Provy gets traded then Sanheim

There's nothing stopping William Wallinder from playing in Grand Rapids.

I like the ideas here, good AGM.

I think Marc Staal is back on the team again on another one year if he wants to be.

I don’t understand lots of Wings fans seem fascinated with bringing back Walman. I think we could do better…
Oesterle is not as good as I thought. Played poorly in the games he saw. Again, Wings could do better there…

I think Soderblom will make it difficult to leave him off the team

I’m not sure Philly would do it for Detroits first in ‘22 tbh. Sanheim was that good for them this year.

I agree. I think McIsaac and their 2022 first or a 2023 unprotected or top five protected first would be appealing, especially if a guy like Nazar is available at 8 and the Flyers go draft Nemec or Jiricek at 5 but still I think Sanheim really could get more, especially with retention

I addressed this in the description. Said “ Mangiapane- Calgary probably matches but they have like 8 roster spots to fill including resigning Tkachuk and Gaudreau so they may not have the space to match.”
As for the fascination with offer sheets, it’s fun. This website is for fun. Yzerman isn’t on here looking for our ideas haha.

Your point about Detroit having a lot of young guys coming up and not wanting to put a target on themselves is a very good point that I didn’t think about.

What would a trade for Magiapane’s rights look like? 2nd and a prospect like Grewe or Niederbach? More?

Didn’t know how Sanhiem was valued in Philly. Provy trade could also be on the table.

I don’t hate the idea of bringing Staal back if other options fizzle out. I like Wallman as a 7th D-man.

I hope Soderblom forced his way into the team but he may be a few months away.
