Quoting: tsyls
The Devils don’t need laine though. They already have a laine type in holtz who will most likely be a better player all around.
The devils also don’t need Cooley imo, a small C isn’t really at the top of the priority list for NJ. I think they draft slaf at 2 and it’ll surprise some people. Unless they know 10000000% they can trade back 2-3 picks and get him. Which is never guaranteed.
But yeah agreed on tkachuk. He is an identity player and would change the Nj franchise.
Holtz: 9 games - 2 points (both assists), 6'0, 192 lbs (not enough info on his game impact but likely not a power forward).
Laine: ppg power forward, 40 goal scorer, and line driver. 6'5, 206 lbs.
These 2 players are not similar, they might both be goal scorers but outside of that they are completely different. Holtz is definitely a solid prospect but he is more like a Kyle Connor, Brock Boeser like goal scorer.
I do think they could trade down though as I bet someone would love to jump up to draft Cooley ahead of Arizona. I don't see any of Arizona, Seattle, Philly, or Columbus taking Slaf though.
Also take it from someone who had 3 40 goal scorer's and 4 guys with at least 35 goals on their team this year. Also being a tampa fan; Point, Kuch, and Stammer all capable of 40+ goals too. It's something really nice to have in your arsenal
