Scheifele has value but not enough to move up to 8th and get Cozens. That also makes no sense for Buffalo

So it’s a late 1st and cozens for schiefele. I think that’s fair value wise, not that Buffalo would do it.

I disagree though, Lets use Zegras as an example here. 1 year ago him and Cozens were considered even. And it's still very likely they are similar caliber players. You dont move a player with that potential and go down 5 spots at the same time

If Chevy hires Vigneault and Carlyle he should be gone too. That literally fixes nothing. Wheeler isn’t getting stripped of his C. and Hellebuyck as assistant captain? that is all very confusing

Cozens may be ambitious. Maybe someone who is a step below? Anaheim? Columbus maybe?

My point is that some team around the league might be willing to offer something that ambitious. If not, then we go for an eichel type package (as in a step below in krebs). Chevy is going to do his due diligence if they move scheifele

What is wrong with Vigneault. Vigneault is one of the best coaches in the league in my opinion. Look what he did with philly 2 years ago. And in my opinion, philly did bad this year because their goaltending went down a drain and they didn’t have the depth to deal with couturier being injured. That’s not all on Alain. And I think his play style would mesh well. Vigneault teams forecheck hard and are a puck possession team, and man are they good at defending. That said, I would go with Boudreau first if he becomes available.

Carlyle is the typical hard ass defence first coach this team needs as an assistant. This team needs to stay committed to defence, and Carlyle would do that.

I don’t think Wheeler gets stripped either, but I hope he does. Need fresh blood.

And as for helly, just because something hasn’t been done, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t. Helly would be a good voice in my opinion.

How about Anaheim? They could use a 2C.

Like Scheifele, I wouldn't add Cozens though especially with only 2yrs on his contract. Cozens should have grown into his body by then, kid will be a beast.

Steel doesn’t move the needle. 14-10 is nice but not super valuable. Comtois isn’t worth that much. Guess it depends on the prospect, but I don’t see Anaheim having any d prospects that could be the centrepiece in a scheifele trade
