5th overall pick is equivalent to being outside of the top 10 next year, it's simply a bad year to have a pick in the top 10 outside of the top 2 (maybe 3). Hawks can't gamble when they have an elite goal scorer on a bad team, who's only 24 years old, on a sweetheart deal for another year and an RFA. Why would they gamble with this offer?
